Over the years, I have sampled many different products to find the perfect combination of makeup that lasts all day, looks natural and most importantly doesn't cause a break out! These are the selections that have worked great for me and hopefully can for you too!
Here are my 6 steps to flawless skin:
Before applying any make up, I always moisturize to have a smooth and soft canvas. You do not want to apply makeup to dry skin, it will look flakey and creased. I'm currently using the La Mer Soft Cream. I have found that La Mer moisturizers keep my skin feeling hydrated, soft, supple and most importantly not greasy! My skin overall feels much healthier with La Mer.
If you are spending so much time putting on makeup, you might as well make it last. My favorite primer is the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. It's oil free, minimizes the look of pores and fine lines, and creates a smooth canvas before makeup application. It really keeps my foundation fresh all day, and prevents fading.
Estée Lauder double wear is my new favorite foundation for a high coverage finish. I do not use it everyday, more for special occasions. It's oil free and covers any of my imperfections with a natural looking finish. This foundation requires no touch ups, at the end of the day it looks fresh like you just applied it. I think the key to a natural looking finish is to use a sponge. I like to use the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge or a Beauty Blender.
Concealer is my favorite makeup next to mascara. I hate dark circles, and found the perfect solution- Cle De Peau Concealer. Although it's expensive, the tube seems to last long. I blend it with a Mini Miracle Sponge after I have applied the concealer stick directly to my skin. It's highly pigmented with a creamy texture that does not crease.
To have a perfect dewy glow, I love to highlight with the NARS Illuminator in Copacabana. I apply it with a Mini Miracle Sponge to have a natural finish. When I'm going for a stronger look I use Becca Champagne Pop.
6. Finishing Powder
I do not always use finishing powder- but if needed for a special occasion I use Chanel Les Beiges Healthy glow. I love it because it looks very natural and sets my foundation/concealer without looking caked on. Not to mention it smells great!
